I always feel happy when I see dogs being walked through beautiful parks and my heart is filled with joy when I see those dogs given the chance to run free in parks and on beaches. Walks are good………… but off-lead runs are even better.
If you look closely you will see the change in dog body language when they are given the freedom to run and explore on their own. They become curious, brave and independent. Another thing that took me a long time to realise is how seldom dogs snap and growl if they are playing off-lead. They just sort out who’s top dog, who wants to play or who to steer clear of all by themselves. No leads getting in the way restricting their ability to move and shimmy. No human nerves radiating down the lead like an electrical force confusing their own energy.
No free-running dogs in Queen’s Park tonight as I walked back to my car at the end of a long, busy day, just some very happy dogs enjoying a lovely walk with their owners.
