“Lest we forget.”

Today is April 25, 2016. Anzac Day. One hundred and one years since Australian and New Zealand soldiers were sent ashore in the hour before the dawn to fight a bloody fight on a ragged, steep and dangerous beach on the coast of Turkey.

Thousands died. Thousands. They fought, they died and they created history.

I live in one of the luckiest countries in the world. I have never had to see or experience war. I hope I never have to see or experience war. But our brave men and women, who train in the possible defence of our wonderful country, have been called upon time and time again to assist our ‘allies’ to fight their wars.
